With special interests in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and joint reconstruction, James S. Sobiek, MD, is a skilled orthopedic surgeon devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of his patients’ musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Sobiek focuses on optimizing the complex system of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves to help his patients move easily and be as active as they’d like to be.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Sobiek completed his medical education at the University of Vermont School of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont, in May 1989. He then came to the West Coast to complete an internship and residency in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California, Davis, in 1994. Dr. Sobiek maintains professional membership in the American Medical Association, the Nevada State Medical Society, Washoe County Medical Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Along with his special orthopedic interests in sports medicine and knee, shoulder, and hip reconstruction, Dr. Sobiek is also an expert in fracture care and general orthopedic care, making him a trusted physician for a wide variety of orthopedic concerns. When not at the office, Dr. Sobiek is a clinical instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno, School of Medicine.
