Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
David A. Jones, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in spinal
disorders and spinal surgery.
Dr. Jones earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and
completed his orthopedic surgery residency at New York’s Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic
Institute. He was awarded a Spinal Surgery Fellowship at the University of California-Davis where
he studied under Dr. Daniel Benson, Professor and Chief of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery.
For more than a decade, Dr. Jones has been caring for patients with spinal disorders and injuries and
is currently at Tahoe Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic. As a fellowship trained spine surgeon, he is a
member of the North American Spine Society, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgeons. He has a current academic appointment as a volunteer faculty member at University of
California-Davis. Additionally, he is involved with the US Ski Team, and has been a frequent guest
on Channel 2 Ask The Doctor segments and Channel 4 health segements.
