Jeffrey R.Cummings M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in arthroscopy and sports related injuries. Dr. Cummings has a particular interest in sports orthopedics involving the shoulder, knee, elbow and ankle. Dr. Cummings has primarily focused on using his arthroscopic training to treat shoulder injuries including instability, injuries of the rotator cuff and shoulder arthritis.

Dr. Cummings earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. After completion of medical school, a general surgery internship and orthopedic residency at Loma Linda University, Dr. Cummings proudly served in the United States Air Force as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington. After separating from the Air Force, Dr. Cummings completed a year of additional training in arthroscopy and sports orthopedics with the San Diego Sports Arthroscopy Fellowship at the University of California at San Diego in San Diego, California.

Dr. Cummings is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Since his arrival to Tahoe his has been active as a physician with the U.S. Ski Team

Dr. Cummings is married with three children and enjoys many outdoor activities in our beautiful community, including biking, skiing, and hiking.
