Dr. Costa grew up in the Carson City/Tahoe area. He attended The University of Nevada, Reno in
1979-1984 for undergraduate studies and went on to medical school at The
University of Nevada, Reno Medical School.
He did a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation in 1989-1993 at
Loma
Linda University in Southern California and started his practice in
1993 in Medford, Oregon. Dr. Costa came to Tahoe Fracture in 1996. He now
specializes primarily in spinal rehabilitation with emphasis on
non-surgical aspect of orthopedics and recovery. Other areas he
specializes in include: soft tissue injuries, degenerative disc problems,
and degenerative joint problems. Common procedures Dr. Costa performs
include: Lumbar Epidurals, Facet Joint Blocks, Trigger Point Injections,
Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography (EMG). Dr. Costa enjoys
outdoor sports, especially cycling. He and his wife biked across the
United States in 1993 and plan to do it once again when their daughter,
Carson is older.
