Meet Our Specialists

David E. Eisenhauer, DO

Specialty Focus:  Surgery of the Shoulder/Elbow & Hand
Microscopic/Orthopedic Surgery

"Upper extremity surgery seemed a natural pursuit for me, having personally dealt with injuries as a throwing athlete in college, I found rehabilitation of the arm and shoulder very interesting, and ultimately very gratifying.  It was amazing to me how the team physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists, working together, were able to get injured athletes back to their sport so efficiently.  Now, as the treating orthopedic surgeon, I try to apply that same "team approach" to my patients, working in concert with physical and occupational therapists as much as possible.  In my practice, elective surgery is typically reserved for those whom have failed non-operative measures.

To be able to give a patient the ability to reach overhead, bend their elbow, make a fist, or even simply just decreasing the pain and numbness in a hand affected with chronic carpel tunnel syndrome, is so rewarding to me.  I feel very fortunate to be able to help others whom have sustained orthopedic injuries, or disability from disease; and as I've seen all along, patients typically have such a remarkable ability and will to return to their pre-injury functional level."
